Canupa Chapter One Day of Service

Our One Day of Service was a huge success. We participated in the Cedar Creek Cleanup and had a good showing. Afterwards, we went to the park for hot dogs and BBQ sandwiches. And we got a cool blue t-shirt, too!!

MY SCOUT JOURNEY

From Tiger Cub in grade one,

TO a soaring Eagle, a long trail I've run.

I traveled through Bobcat, Wolfe, Bear, and Webelos too,

Before I crossed over to see BSA view.

I took the Tenderfoot path which wasn't too far,

Leading to rank: Second, First, then Star.

One more rank, Life, before I soar high,

Like an Eagle up in the sky.

The journey was long and rough at times.

But I wouldn't trade it for any other kind.

Let me encourage each Scout here,

To pass this message on year after year.

May your journey be of 'Happy Trails'

Until you, too can like an Eagle sail

Dakota's ceremony was great!!!

So, he will be helping with the blogging and maybe we can keep up. And here he is with Danny King. Michael is the one in the black shirt!! Thanks, Michael, for taking on this weighty responsibility and irksome task!!

Oak Leaf rules!! (click on the arrow)

Campfire

But the best part of the weekend was the campfire!!!!

Oak Leaf Weekend

Cherokee District held the annual Oak Leaf Training at Camp Cherokee during the weekend of January 31-February 1. The training was a HUGE success. We had 31 youth participants from three districts: Cherokee, Grey Owl, and Tomahawk. Staff participation included 25 youth staff and 13 adult staff from Cherokee and Grey Owl districts. The weather was perfect, even though a little chilly at night, and the fellowship was outstanding. We had an awesome camp fire on Saturday night, followed by ice cream at the cracker barrel!
